the punctuality
For the first time this year I traveled to the Maldives with Etihad Airways, afterwards an advantageous offer I had found on the web last September (it was the lowest price ever paid so far, neither with charter flights, nor with other airlines which depart from the airport of Venice to Male).
The reviews I had read on Etihad were definitely very discordant, with assessments ranging from "excellent" to "negative", so the evening before my departure I was a bit in apprehension, especially thinking back to the last review I had read, about a flight of just ten days before, in which the writer complained about the not delivery of luggage for two consecutive times: his luggage had remained in Abu Dhabi and only two days after they had been delivered!
My first thought was: "It’s better I put at least a couple of swimwear in my hand luggage, you never know!"
Well, they were useless apprehensions.
The trip was almost perfect, both outward and return journeys. The flights were on time, the staff was friendly, the entertainment in line with Qatar or Emirates, the lunch was good and sufficient and the seats were comfortable.
It was very positive for me, compared to previous flights, to find above the seats (in the first part of journey from Rome to Abu Dhabi) not only the blanket and the kit for rest, but also a nice cushion, like a collar, to be put around the neck to rest more comfortably.
Negative notes? First of all, being Etihad Airways partner of Alitalia, two sections of the flights were made precisely by our airline (the first, Venice-Rome, and the last, Abu Dhabi- Venice) and for this reason we couldn't do the check-in online; then Alitalia’s carriers were not quite as comfortable as those of Etihad, and our seats were very hard and difficult to slant.
Another note on the outward journey: during the flight from Abu Dhabi to Male the crew gave us the usual forms to fill out and hand over to the passport control when we would arrive to Male... .but they were not going well! They were incomplete and different from those projected, and therefore they were useless and at the end all passengers had to recompile the forms provided by the airport staff.
In return, our luggage arrived on time and in perfect condition!

#Etihad_worst_Airlines_ever My nightmare started when I booked a round trip ticket from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt, and since not sure about the return I booked it refundable and paid extra charge, when I requested a refund, they refused and denied that option and when asked them about the extra charge I've paid, they simply answered "you lost it too". They simply let you do the purchase process and pay more for fake product, “BEWARE”

Fright nanny program
Drink glass was sometimes broken
I went Maldives by Etihad air line Dec 2013 from Tokyo with my 1 and 3 years old children.
It was good fright cause they have fright nanny program. She always care about my daughters and served meal and drink first and they gave them special toy bags. My children were not boring during 11hours fright.
And more every Etihad air lines CA are kind and friendly for me.
I did many effort to keep my children are nicely so I was very tired . Some CA sometimes encouraged me and they gave me drinks and sweets.
I have never met such are friendly CA!!
About food.
They have 3 choices meal. I love vegetarian meal was best cause I love wines.

Great flight with Ethiad from Manchester to Male travelling via Abu Dhabi. We have been to the Maldives 4 times previously and have flown with Emirates twice and Thomsons once. Ethiad compared well with Emirates, they both offer exceptional levels of service.
The Crew was amazing, a lady found out it was our honeymoon just through chatting to us and brought us a complementary bottle of champagne which was very thoughtful. When we flew with Thomsons/first choice we saw SO many couples who had paid for champagne, who had to keep asking for it. It was so nice to get it free without asking and to be the only ones on the plane with it, rather than one of many,
We didn't like Abu Dhabi airport as it was overcrowded, inefficient and we didn't feel the staff were very friendly. We do prefer flying via Dubai.

Tirering long flight
Good meals, plenty of space
Frankfurt to Abu Dhabi in summer 2012. What surprised us, two meals were served on this flight, both were of really good quality. Another important advantage of flying with Etihad Airways was plenty of space for legs and opportunity to recline in the seats.
Not to mention the friendly and polite crew who were willing to help, supply additional water or simply stop for a chat.
All in all, I can reccommend them!
