Finding the perfect honeymoon destination can be hard- for two very different people with different interests. While one of you may be into tanning by the pool, sipping cool cocktails, the other one might be more interested in sight-seeing, and exploring.

A quick read here and you will find that the Maldives is the ultimate honeymoon destination for you. Between the beautiful, ancient buildings on the capital Island and the powdery white beaches at the resorts, you and your partner could have your dream honeymoon here. Most of the resorts here offer 5 Star accommodation and food cooked by world class chefs.

Kick your honeymoon off by staying at one of these beautiful resorts. During the first couple of days you could dwell in tanning by the beach, taking a dip in the crystal clear waters, or taking your first diving lesson. Enjoy some quality time with your loved one; doing the things she loves doing. Swim with the fish, see up close the unique types of corals and enjoy a slow, relaxed day at the resort. Your first diving experience with your loved one by your side, it really could not get any more magical than that.  The underwater pictures do not do justice to them when you’re actually seeing them. Enjoying the luxury of room service, and staying in bed all day, savouring some of the most heavenly meals you’ve ever had. At the end of the day, you and your partner are both happy, and ready for the next part of your honeymoon.

A short visit to the capital island Malé and your honeymoon takes on an entire different turn. The paved streets, and colourful buildings; the locals going about their everyday lives, and you and your partner in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of a typical day in Malé. Some of the most beautiful places to check out are the Hukuru Miskiy,( Friday Mosque) which was built in 1656. With beautiful lacquer work on the walls and wooden doors, this is a definite ‘must-see’ if you’re ever in Malé.  The Republic Square, the oldest mosque in the Maldives the ‘Kalhuvakaru Miskiy’, and the Sultan Park  are places you shouldn’t miss out on.

Going back to your resort as after an exciting day the sunsets will give you the chance to view the magical sunsets that the Maldives is famous for. Watch the sun drop off slowly over the edge of the horizon, sending out beautiful orange rays across the blue skies. After experiencing both the ‘city life’ in the capital island, and the chilled out lifestyle at the resorts, you and your partner both get to enjoy the perfect honeymoon in Maldives.
